Emergency Contact Procedures: -
In case of emergencies, guard should be prepared to contact the appropriate authorities:

Call 911 for immediate police, fire, or medical assistance.

Cooperate with emergency responders upon their arrival.
Do Not Pick Needles: -
Guards should never handle or pick up needles or any hazardous materials. If such items are found, they should be reported to the supervisor or the appropriateauthorities for proper disposal.
Safety Check-Ins: -
Guards are required to send safety check-ins every 30 minutes via WhatsApp or other designated communication channels. This helps to ensure your well-being and provides a record of your status during patrols.

Ensure workers are aware of their responsibilities to support the Health & Safety program, making health and safety a part of their daily routine and ensure that they are following safe work methods and procedures reporting all unsafe or unhealthy conditions.

NSG Protection Services reminds all employees that they have a personal responsibility for their own health and safety and that of other people who may be affected by the work that they do. They must therefore adhere to the safe working practices detailed in the Health and Safety manual, and cooperate fully with their managers on any matter relating to Health and Safety.
Ground for dismissal
The following are prohibited at all times on all company property and at all client sites:Possession, consumption or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Arriving for work or remaining at work when ability to perform your duties safely is impaired. Possession of firearms, fighting, horseplay, practical jokes, misbehaving, theft, vandalism.Damaging, disabling or interfering with safety, fire or first aid equipment.
Emergency Procedures
In all cases of emergency your first and immediate action must be to call for professional, qualified assistance (fire, ambulance and police) before rendering assistance, in accordance with client’s standing orders.
First Aid Treatment
All security officers are encouraged (and required by specific contracts) to take a First Aid course and CPR(various levels). Regardless of qualification the following rules shall apply when carrying out first aid

If the casualty is conscious ask them if you can help. A “yes” or a nod of the head is acceptable legal consent.

ALWAYS send for competent medical help (ambulance).
-
Ensure the injured person is kept warm and as comfortable as possible.
-
Take control of onlookers – delegate tasks to them where needed.
-
Give no liquids to drink. If the person complains of thirst moisten their lips with a cloth.

Provide reassurance.
-
Do not attempt to move the injured person.
-
Whether trained in first aid or not a security officer is the only “in between” until regular emergencies. Refer to your client’s specific instructions for further details.
Bomb Threats
Bomb threats do occur. During the course of your duty, security officers may be the receiver of a bomb threat by phone or in writing. All security officers must be aware of the procedures in the handling of such an instance.

If a written threat is received: Save all material including the envelope, container, letter or note, etc. Do everything possible to preserve fingerprints, paper and postmarks.

If a telephone request is received: Record the call if possible. Keep the caller talking in order to receive as much information as possible.

Try and learn the time of detonation, type of device, explosive used and location.

Inform the caller that there are people in the building/site. If (s)he argues, then they may know the building/site is empty. Inform them that there is a special meeting taking place. This may prompt the caller to reveal more information.

Note background noises (machines highway traffic, music, etc) and voice qualities (male or female, loud, soft, deep high, accent, calm, excited, etc)

Try to write as much as possible while taking the call.

Report the threat immediately to applicable authorities such as the police, fire and bomb squad, etc.

Don’t take it lightly, any bomb threat is serious.

Getting as much information as possible not only helps the security department learn about the bomb but it will also help determine the next course of action. Generally speaking, the more information received, the easier the job of the searchers and police officials.

Communication
As a security officer you will have opportunities to utilize telephones, cellular phones and radios during the course of your duties. Proper etiquette when using this equipment is essential to ensure professionalism and your safety.
